Saturday 22 July 2017

2:30pm Performance of Emma

6:30pm Gala Three Course Dinner with guest speaker

Dinner and show package now on sale for just $139 per person

2:30pm: A performance of Jane Austen's classic Emma
at The Genesian Theatre, 420 Kent Street

Jane Austen's Emma is a play about the stirrings of new love, and how sometimes by trying to manipulate Cupid's arrow, we can completely miss the mark!

We meet Emma, an accomplished and wealthy young woman, where after a successful attempt to bring two people together, she believes herself a natural matchmaker. Emma's lesson to learn is that unlike playing with her dolls as a child, the people of Highbury are flesh and blood, and messing with their love lives can cause some real consequences!

A joyous, period costumed, large cast adaptation by Pamela Whalan directed by Barry Nielsen.

An hour or so after the show to change or to freshen up
(or relax at the Bar at the Castlereagh Hotel) before:

6:30pm: Gala Dinner in Cocktail or Period costume
at Cello's Restaurant, Castlereagh Hotel, 169 Castlereagh Street

(Includes three courses, drinks, guest speaker, music, song, and readings from Jane Austen)

You will be able to reserve your seats for the 2:30pm performance, but the seating at the dinner will be open with no reserved tables. Gather your friends and sit together, but please be welcoming to all to share your table!

Accommodation is available through the Castlereagh Hotel, phone (02) 9284 1000.
