Blithe Spirit -
Genesian Theatre

This classic comedy poses the question - how do you get rid of an ex if they are determined to stay?

Add the complication that the ex is a ghost and under the deft hand of director Rebekah Jennings, Noel Coward's comedy sparkles with wit and charm.

Robert Drew the husband, Charles, arranges a séance with his second wife Ruth, (Genevieve Mortiss), the verbose Dr Bradman (Kelvin Widdows), his wife (Wendy Greenfield) and the delightfully dotty medium Madame Arcati, played with zest by Melanie Robinson.

When the spirit of first wife Elvira is conjured up, Charles is at first appalled that she seems to have manifested permanently, however despite initial reservations and Ruth's horror, Charles begins to enjoy his reunion with Elvira.

Why has Elvira returned? Is Ruth right to suspect ulterior motives - and from whom - Elvira? Madame Alcarti? or the maid Edith (Veronica Woods)?

Come and see this delightful romp at the Genesian Theatre, Kent Street, Sydney, 3rd November to 15th December 2007.
