Theatre Tech Masterclass with Michael Schell

An introductory course to the art and science of Lighting, Sound and Stage Management in the Theatre.
An unmissable introduction to the magic that can be created with the use of lights and sound in the theatre plus a look at the vital role of the stage manager. A real hands on opportunity to see systems in operation, learn the skills required to master theatre technology using the Genesian Theatre's highly popular ETC Express 48/96 Computer Lighting Desk, and the SFX6 sound playback software from Stage Research, and all culminating in a tour of the backstage facilities of performing arts icon the Sydney Opera House.
Tutor Michael Schell has worked professionally in Theatre since 1976.
He has Designed Lighting for over 200 productions for Companies such as Aboriginal Islander Dance Theatre Heritage, Chatswood Musical Society Tales of Hoffmann, Gilbert and Sullivan Society Tarantara! Tarantara!, Independent Theatre Snap!, Iron Cove Theatre Driving Miss Daisy, Lane Cove Players Night of January 16th, New Theatre Chapel Perilous, Nimrod Christian Brothers, Q Theatre Madly in Love, Hurstville Light Opera Iolanthe, The Stables All That Fall, Sutherland Light Opera White Horse Inn, Tilbury Hotel Legends with Tony Lamond & Nancy Hayes, as well as designing Sound for over 100 productions including Sydney Theatre Company Mortal Falcon directed by Richard Wherrett, and Nimrod Upside Down At the Bottom of the World directed by Neil Armfeld. For RGP Michael designed lights and sound for Hamlet and Brideshead Revisited at the Tom Mann theatre.
Recently honoured with life-membership of the Genesian Theatre Michael has lit and designed sound for countless of our productions most recently Journeys End, and Pygmalion.
